About Marie Laure de Beausacq

Marie Laure de Beausacq - Exploring Culture, Art, and Social Good

Marie-Laure de Beausacq has built a diverse career spanning journalism, music, performance, and advocacy for peace, environmental sustainability, and social good. As a journalist, she has written articles on music and pedagogy for Revue Musicale Suisse since 1998, including a 2022 piece titled “Le Mélodieux selon Jacques Cerf,” which examines the composer’s harmonic approach, and has explored the influence of composers like Beethoven on musical structure. She also contributed a recent article in 2024 about l’Institut Jacques Dalcroze. She worked as a video reporter for Télévision Suisse Romande (RTS) in 2002 and contributed to Presidency Key Brief as an editorialist from 2014 to 2016, including coverage of the COP21 summit in Paris in 2015. In music production, she has overseen the Hommage à Jacques Cerf album, featuring pianist Kotaro Fukuma, and managed Caveman for Theatre Mogul Productions in 2006. With a background in piano from the Conservatoire de Lausanne, theater, dance, and a continuous professional eurythmic cursus at l’Institut Jacques Dalcroze, she also engages in painting and dance, with examples available on her Facebook pages, and has created the short film From Chaos to Hope, a tribute to the suffering of religious extremism within the Syrian community, featuring the voice of Syrian artist Dilawer Dildar, viewable on her LinkedIn and X pages. She currently performs as a chorister with Urban Sax, a Paris-based ensemble founded by Gilbert Artman in 1973. Known for its “urbanism sonore,” the group uses large-scale saxophone ensembles, percussion, voices, and dance—often with up to 50 musicians in metallic costumes and gas masks—to create immersive performances at venues like the Venice Carnival, the Guggenheim Museum in Bilbao, and Paris’s Cité des Sciences, often collaborating with local artists. In humanitarian and peace efforts, Marie-Laure has served as Western Switzerland coordinator for The Hunger Project since 2016, supporting community empowerment and hunger relief, including a 2016 event with Fashion Cam. Since 2018, as head of the Swiss branch of Peace by Peace, appointed by President Bérengère de Pontac, she organized a 2019 World Peace Day conference at the Fondation Jean Monnet pour l’Europe with support from the foundation. She also works with Artisans de la Paix to promote peace through art. Her background includes a Bachelor’s in Social and Human Sciences (2009–2013) and management courses at EPFL (2003–2004) and IDHEAP (2003). Learn more about Marie-Laure’s work in journalism, music, and advocacy by searching her name on Google. Her commitment to connecting culture, environmental action, and social good continues to resonate with diverse audiences.
